HOLNE CHASE

Creative Curriculum.

Aspiration for all

Our curriculum nurtures aspiration, imagination, moral guidance, fun and creativity.

Alongside academic achievement, this gives every child at Holne Chase the opportunity to fulfil their own unique potential.

The result? Children at our school outperform their peers locally – and are happy, confident learners.

Happy, Confident Learners

Inspired by the philosophy of
Fun, Creativity and Achievement.

Curriculum content is rigorously planned to ensure all children engage in lessons and consolidate their learning with clear intentions. Throughout the school, each year group’s learning is celebrated and displayed, showcasing their hands-on learning experiences, progress and achievements.

This consistent whole-school approach gives children a broad, challenging and progressive curriculum that nurtures their lifelong love for learning. Our creative approach to curriculum is consistent throughout the Trust. We have a collective passion to make all our schools excellent, and put teaching brilliant sessions ahead of bureaucracy, giving teachers the support and resources they need to focus on delivering excellent educational experiences.

AMBITION

Our ambition is for children to learn about and explore a world beyond Bletchley, opening doors to new and exciting experiences. We want children to build on and advance their knowledge base, develop strong skills and, through exceptional curriculum opportunities, develop an enthusiasm and love for learning that endures, and ensures every child fulfils their potential.

Our curriculum recognises each child as an individual and is designed to meet the needs of all learners. We are committed to providing the very best teaching and learning experiences, which inspire, challenge and support pupils to demonstrate exceptional outcomes. We provide children with a variety of learning experiences, celebrate individual achievements, nuture confidence and positivity, and create opportunities every day for pupils to build their confidence and develop their aspirations for the future.

IMPLEMENTATION

Curriculum intent is embedded from the outset in the Early Years and Key Stage One. Here, children are provided with creative and engaging ways to explore and investigate their learning, putting the foundations in place for a lifelong love of education and learning. Through innovative practice and experiences, children are encouraged to become inquisitive, resilient learners, who readily challenge themselves. Learning is enhanced and brought to life throughout school through a range of enrichment activities; these include trips out into the community, and engaging with visitors to school.
In Key Stage Two we build on the brilliant foundations put in place in Early Years and Key Stage One, and the curriculum adapts to meet the changing needs of learners. Pupils embed their core skills through a variety of exciting and innovative learning experiences involving enterprise and science for example. Visits, visitors and trips ensure childrens’ learning is memorable and enables pupils to challenge themselves further. Regular experiences involving art, sport, theatre and technology further enrich the curriculum.
Throughout their time at Holne Chase, our pupils engage with their local communities and explore the rich diversity that Modern Britain offers. Our core values of respect, aspiration, resilience, empathy, positivity and responsibility are central to everything we do and ensure pupils make a positive contribution to society. And as our pupils’ families are so incredibly important to life at Holne Chase, parents and carers are regularly invited into school to participate in learning, and to celebrate their child’s achievements.

IMPACT

Through our progressive curriculum, children are able to demonstrate and articulate what they have learned. At the end of Early Years, children achieve above the national standard and at Key Stage One, continue to make good progress with outcomes in line with their peers. Beyond the academic achievements, Holne Chase children leave primary school as responsible young people modelling our core values in everything they do. They are resilient and determined learners with aspirations for the future.
Not only are they ready for their next stage of education, but also have a passion and positivity to achieve beyond their schooling life. Children show exceptional behaviours with a real understanding and respect for their local and wider community and empathy for others; active and global citizens of the future.
