I have recently been appointed at Chair of Governors at Holne Chase, I have held the post of Vice Chair for several years and now am happy to take on the role of Chair and embrace the challenge the role offers me.  I have one daughter at Holne Chase School (KS1). I wanted to become a Governor to help shape my child's future and also help bring strong ties to the surrounding community. I have a degree in Computer Science .  I have a strong retail background from stacking shelves to running a flagship store of 110,000sq ft  with 90 staff with an 80 million pound turnover.

Ryan Scott

Staff Governor

I am Ryan Scott and I am the Deputy Headteacher in the school working across all of the classes. I became a governor because I am a representative of the staff and as such my role is to present the views of all staff working in the school  in a reasonable and fair way.

A staff voice on the governing body is essential so that, in partnership with other governors, the staff are able to contribute to the strategic development of the school. As a staff governor I provide a very useful link between the staff and the governing body.

Stephanie Boyers

Staff Governor

My name is Stephanie Boyers and I am one of the staff governors for the school. I have been teaching in Primary Schools for 12 years and before that, I taught Art in a Secondary School that supported boys with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

I am the EYFS & KS1 lead and I am also the school SENCo. During my time at Holne Chase I have also been responsible for EAL, Pupil Premium and Children who are Looked After. So I have a vested interest in helping all children achieve their goals.

My own children currently attend Holne Chase, and I feel lucky that I get to witness first hand how dedicated and committed the staff here are. My interest in achieving the absolute best for the school comes from both a professional and a personal point of view.

I have 12 years experience of school governance and I am fully committed to ensuring the children in our school receive an excellent standard of education and care.

John Ricketts

Co-opted Governor

My name is John Ricketts and I have been a Governor of Holne Chase since early 2019.   Until recent times I was living with the family in Holland working for a Dutch company that did business around the globe and where I had responsibility for International development.

We have four Children, three of which are ‘relatively’ independent with their own families and one ‘fully’ dependent who is at uni in Sheffield studying Economics.   Our Children have had a variety of educational experiences ranging between International, UK Boarding and State junior and primary schools and I have enjoyed a very positive engagement with their respective schools both as a parent and supporter through PTA’s and supporting work groups.

Whilst I have now retired from my career job I am working on a number of development projects and have an interest to support and participate in education through the role of Governor.  I want to bring my experience, enthusiasm and energy to Holne Chase to support a school in the community.

I feel excited about the opportunity to contribute to the development of Holne Chase and the children that benefit from a great teaching team and serve the parents by bringing my experience and objectivity to the Governing board.

Anna Gracey

Co-opted Governor

I am a fully qualified teacher, a head of department and have worked in state schools in England for 11 years. Before that I studied French Medieval Literature, worked as a translator and as a language teacher in adult education in three different countries.

My first son is in KS1 at Holne Chase School and my second son will hopefully join Holne Chase in September 2021. As with any parent, my children’s future is very important to me and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to support the school that they attend in being the best school it can possibly be.

Through my role I intend to do all I can to support Holne Chase in setting its pupils – and my sons among them – on the path to becoming the best people they can be, giving them the best start possible on their educational journey.

Gail Chapman

Parent Governor

Hi, I am Gail Chapman and mum to two children at Holne Chase School. My other job is Senior Account Manager for a Medical Communication company. My role there, is to provide clear communication and education via various media.

Many of my friends are teachers and I understand the challenges that they face providing the best, healthy and happy environment for children to learn within. As a Governor, I feel I can use my background and experience to help support the school, in any way I can.

By searching for the best in every situation and each individual, we can work to develop a community, where each child is valued and is able to grow both academically and creatively.
